Personality & Traits

General Overview
Mellow. Easy to know. Much more into Paris, the arts and living than politics. One gets the idea that primitive species are into power and confrontation, and don’t understand what is really important (like cooking and fashion), but her academic specialty was understanding alien psychology and she is really good at getting to know people. A little bit of empathy helps.

Strengths & Weaknesses
- Declines to take things too seriously. Thinks people more important than ideas.
- Somewhat tends to agree with whomever she has talked to last.
- With her husband, her daughter, her cooking, etc, tends to be distracted onto important things. Somehow, politics doesn't rank as an important thing.
- Undergoing an experimental system which reduces her Deltan pheromone release while in public but which still allows almost more or less normal relations with her husband. Not quite right at either extreme, makes life a bit complicated, but she keeps busy coping.

Ambitions
Teach her daughter to enjoy her sexuality and find a proper partner in Paris of all places. Love her husband. Learn to cook in the native style of as many Federation ambassadors as possible. Try do deflate the obsession with power and military force of as many of her fellow ambassadors as she can. The Federation ought to be the Federation. Yes, there are people across the border that need to be defended against, but there is much more to life than that.

Hobbies & Interests: Cooking, fashion, art

Languages: Deltan, English, French, Betazoid

Personal History

Her father should perhaps have been a member of one of the more primitive races. He never seemed to mind telling people what to do. Still, even Deltans have to do occasional government things, and it gave him an excuse to be with people. In time, it got him as far away as Paris, and he had to deal with absurd beings, but Paris was still Paris. He got to bring his wife and daughter with him, and life was good if at times a bit complicated.

Mom kept everyone grounded. If the aliens occasionally tended to take things too seriously, well, she would keep everyone sane and up to date with the latest fashions.

Idris was her father’s daughter, fascinated by the strange alien perspectives. While her mother kept her head on straight, she always wondered. How do these strange beings supposedly think anyway? She was still in Paris. With her enhanced Deltan senses and empathy she fit in well with the fashion and cooking communities. Still, she had trouble making sense of the primitive thinking and made it a game of figuring everything out. This led her in time to her academic specialty of xeno psychology and a job under her father at the Deltan Consulate that didn’t get too much in the way of…. well... Paris.

The problem was a lack of Deltan males. One really wasn’t mature until one found one’s other half. Deltans are highly sexual, empathic, and aren’t really whole when they are alone. It was thought that she would have to return home for a time, but her degree was incomplete and she did not want to leave her parents.

The answer came in Jaran. He was trying to make a name for himself as a fashion designer, and in turn drafted Idris as model, muse, lady friend and wife. This was sort of inevitable. Pheromone blockers or no, males are attracted to females, females to males and Deltans became whole. Jaran in time developed a sideline in children’s fashion. Unfortunately, this sideline is beginning to merge with his adult line.

Idris had to become whole. Pasha... their daughter… She was somehow different? There were clearly not enough Deltan males in Paris. Neither was there a big enough stick in Paris to drive the males of various species away. Somehow, Pasha didn’t see it that way. I mean, Jaran could only be pleaded with to take on so many apprentices.

Meanwhile, Idris’s father had been recalled to Delta IV, of course taking his other half with him. Only so many people could seeming deal with the pesky aliens. Idris agreed to try to hold down what was laughingly called an embassy until a replacement could be sent. Delta IV was hardly Terra or anything close. It shouldn’t be that hard to find someone who understands alien primitives well who was willing to uproot his other half? Her relief should be sent soon. He’s only slightly overdue. Any time now…
